What is especially appalling is that so few people have protested Bush's brazen efforts to redefine freedom and democracy. There are plenty of folks who know better who joined the parade. My Jesuit trained scientist friend says making up new definitions for common words is an historic danger sign and it is so obvious to me now how prevalent and insidious this is. So many folks I run into in the DC area swoon after about the second chapter and never overcome their dread of reading further. Yes, it is most unfortunate that the major media either does not understand or ducks many of the worst government abuses. Hopefully enough folks wake up in time.... I used to think I understood what's going on. Now I am really shaken; I realize I did not have a broad enough understanding. I find the Media won't let the hard truths be discussed. Go right now to the library 900 section. Look at the enormous amount of real information and start getting the real stuff before Washington finds out what you've checked out. Wake up America !
