Jean - Thanks for the ref to Margulies. His speech at the FFF conference was superb - one of the best speeches I have heard on political affairs in a long time. I will check out his book.

Even if Ron Paul doesn't win the election, I will continue devotedly sampling new beers.

On working as a spokesman for a Cuban Cigar company - I may have to trim my beard for that one. Or else I may have to start wearing a military fatigue cap instead of a railroad engineer cap...

Thanks for the suggesetions!

Jim, I'm reading Joe Marguilies great book on Gitmo and the abuse of presidential power. It's truly a great resource on the current policies of this corrupt adminstation. What I found to be quite revealing is that during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, even though the North Koreans and North Vietnamese didn't adhere to the Geneva Conventions, we did. In fact, during Vietnam, when it was difficult to see if a prisoner was a Viet Cong, or not, we would still front these people Geneva Protections, and give them Article 5 hearings to see if they were indeed VC or not. If not, they were then transferred to the area where they were captured and released.
On a lighter note, I wonder if Ron Paul wins the election, what will be your new avenue of work? Here's a few possibilities. First, you can be the official beer taster for all the micro-brews in the country, and report on your findings. I'm sure this well be very well compensated, or maybe you can be the official spokesman for the American Cuban Cigar Company. You'd make a fine spokesman. Also for your viewing pleasures thought you'd like this website. www.yankeebrew.com . Give it a look.

Did you hear country n western rap music ? (Torture.) Southerners always wore their hair short; but long after the hippie culture they now wear it long. (When northerners wore it long so did everyone else - including southerners and country n western musicians.) But today it's mostly country musicians who wear it long. Soon enough we will hear country n western rap.

Right wing war profiteers were originally from the East - not the south. HW is from the east but W is from the south.

Was the Army of the Potomac that gottem thinking ("we can be pretty tuff".) Combine that (50 years later) with "hey they trying to take my fruit farm" (they were yust trying to tell em how to run it) and you get banana republic (in place of constitutional republic).

This mentality is 100 years old and in the minds of that dick and his cohort continues to this day (but under the guise of Islamic Terrorism, created by the shrub's fathers.)

See what Lincoln did. Was the same kind of idealogy that stirred up Lincoln (slaveowners) that cause all the trouble today (right wing war profiteers).

H Hughes is from Houston and Boeing is the owner of Hughes aviation ? Hughes Sr was an oil man and inventor of an oil well drill. Bush Sr formed an offshore oil drilling business (Zapata) and maybe this business would eventually sell tools or equipment for oil drilling. The CIA is run by right wing war profiteers.

It is an abiding mystery why the Demomilquetoasts cannot seem to rise to this occasion..... until one remembers the times we find ourselves in and the crystal-clear reflection of the prevailing "whatever" and "sumpthin fer nuthin" culture our politicians ably represent. The vaunted political parties are simply cogs in the wheel-of- torture emerging out of the mists in this cozy little low-IQ Authoritarian Regime we seem so desperately to need.

The "Weekly Readers" all growed up that we romantically refer to as the Fourth Estate are just as bad, if not worse. The word "Pusillanimous" falls somehow short. No wonder though, when the word "Pusillanimous", is... of course... omitted from the N.Y. Times lexicon now that they have trimmed the width of their paper to "streamline" things and make it "easier to print the paper across the land".If people just didn't read no more, then we'd really have things running smoothly and profitably.

Now that our Torquemadesque Schmoo named Karl has been trotted out to weep into the sunset vacation with his lifetime Science Project,
Malapropist I, perhaps they themselves can become the greatest interogation tool down there in our lovely scab called Guantanimo. Maybe they can usher the "detainees" into a small room with a vaseline bar perched ominously in the corner as the Great Deecider and his Polished Turd Blossum Karl mist-up and go blubbery about their less-than-stellar finish to an Epoch of GOP Dominance. Half an hour of this lugubrious confab and every one of the suspects would be signing whatever outlandish release the American Enterprise Institute might have dreamed up during their foggy "Might is Right even if it's Mighty Wrong" nights at the center of the Universe As We Know It. If we played Kate Smith's stirring rendition of "God Bless America" while W and Karl went about their weepy stemwinder, the terrorists would likely give up Osama's exact location in a heartbeat.

The fact that these two charlatans and their Vlad-The-Impaler-Lite, Dick represent the most astonishing political force in modern history makes about as much sense as a La Leche League Seminar at Fashion Week. But there you have it ladies and gentlemen.

Maybe the American People really aren't listening because if we're as stupid as we appear, well, Devolution really will cancel out evolution by next week at ten o'clock. Welcome to the GOP's production of "Weimar For Idiots".

Speaking of Bibulous Preoccupations, The Seattle Art Museum has a wonderful display of the costumes and ceremonies of Okumpka!....a fine little bit of political theatre practiced by sub-Saharan tribes in Africa. Apparently, when the civilians have had enough of their own martinettes, they dress up in costumes and assume the guise of spirits called "MMA". Doing so, they are "freed to be humorously critical and help people who are not facing reality well". Hmmmmmma, I sez to myselfs, anybody up for a little road trip down there to Crawford so's we can dress up in Latex Nixon Masks and Chimpanzee Suits and present a little Patriotic Okumpka of our own for Karl and the Chainsawer in Cheef entitled "I am not an Authoritarian"?

On second thought, wouldn't be prudent, wouldn't be right.

Steve, Steve, Steve, they only THINK that they're drowning and since they're not in any actual danger - other than that caused by the screaming heebie jeebies - that's what makes it okay. Surely you don't object to the Mighty and Benevolent State protecting its citizens, do you? Because, you know, somebody who didn't want Americans protected would quite obviously be One Of Them.

And I don't mean giant ants. :D

Oh, Jim, you silly "lib-rul." They dont beat them to death. They NEARLY drown them to death. There's a big difference, you know.

Crime doesn't pay: as time passes people begin to talk. Most crooks have low IQ's; but they can learn to become highly proficient.

The shrub pursues many objectives: he ordered torture hoping to magically discover all the secret Terrorist networks and leadership. And discover they probably did; the problem was there wasn't much to learn. After the Iraq invasion Arab patriots began to enter the country. Was this so difficult to predict ? That individuals would act on their own against an invader. Some Arabs are organized, some are not. Many receive training in Pakistan while young. We didn't need to invade an Arab country to learn that (we needed to invade to protect assets and investments).

Another objective was to raise hell in a Middle East country for revenge of 9/11. The truth is, to me, it was all instigated by the US government. And Arabs warned about their future targets (including the WTC). They played into the hands of the right wing war profiteers who remined silent.

The shrub also figured Arabs would tire of all the violence - but patriots never get tired of fighting for their freedom - it can become a life-long passion.

Shrub knew about future targets before 9/11. He figured the WTC attack would enrage Americans long enough (8 years). He's descended from Prescott Bush (UFC.)

What's the lesson ? Leviathan. Will Americans finally realize the truth about our banana republic. That right wingers, to protect their foreign holdings, create a threat, stir up trouble to expand the military (and create more profits) and then invade. They do this regardless of the cost of life. They redefine patriotism as loyalty to the state - and eventually brainwash Americans into a mindset completely opposed to the original constitutional republic created by the founding fathers; "You are either with us or against us" (in our AEI hit-men expeditions).

H. Hughes may have been the biggest war profiteer of them all (with mostly US assets) or had the most extensive involvement with the CIA and other government procurement ties. Greed is a powerful emotion or instinct; Hughes may have been involved in the JFK conspiracy or at least knew of it. JFK stepped on more toes than a clumsy puppy (maybe he stepped on his own too). The CIA may have destroyed Howard Hughes intentionally. His companies had produced too much advanced military hardware to allow one man all that control.
