Most police chiefs are fascists? Strange, very few nazis were fat (the Air Marshall was). Oh that’s right, back then there were no DunkinDonut stores. My 2 cents.

Marc, I’m not sure about the “thin” in “The Thin Blue Line.” Seems to me that there’d be some truth-in-advertising issues if Jim were to title his pictoral essay book that way.

Dirk - I wasn’t on the hunt for cop/donut photos - but I reckon I was in a “high incident” zone, so it was my own fault.

On the photos of protestors - that one pic was fairly mild. There were some live wires at the event that made me realize how far I have come from boyhood home in the mountains.

Dear Mr. Bovard,
Depicting our law enforcement personnel like this simply has to stop. You are sending the wrong message to the enemy. I swear you must wait forever to find photos like this or maybe you photoshop them. I know there must be alot of law enforcement people who eat tofu granola bars and celery sticks while drinking effervescent mineral water. Why can’t you take pictures of them Buster?

I suppose its no use really when some of the photos of the protesters are reminiscent of a halloween parade presented by the sister cities of Comitan, Chiapas and Berkeley, California.

History may be over but comedy sure aint.

Jim, if you ever publish your growing collection of centurion images as a photo book would “The Thin Blue Line” be too much of a stretch for the title? You must be a natural, the late great photographer Diane Arbus probably had to hunt a lot harder to achieve her art.

not one candidate running for president had the balls or the ovaries to show up at the anti war protest. duncan hunter was one of the pro war asshole who showed up at the pro war rally.

I heard that Dunkin’ Donuts had to bring in three overtime shifts throughout the downtown area yesterday.

The police seemed more relaxed yesterday than I at most antiwar demonstrations I have seen in recent years…

I notice you’ve managed to snag a picture of a cop who’s conducted a successful investigation and apprehension of a “suspect.”

I feel like I’m part of the old “Mutual Of Omaha Wild Kingdom” series.

“Today we’re sending Jim in after a prime male specimen of copus thuggus. Jim is going to try and get a picture of him as he stalks his prey - the American Donut. This will be very dangerous, as getting between a cop and his donut is far worse than being between a mother bear and her cubs.

“Watch out, Jim!* He looks like he may charge - and you’ll never get the jelly stains out of your safari jacket!”

*I always loved how Marlin Perkins, presumably safe in the studio, would yell that.
