That's a good post: laws trump the Constitution (the body of laws that were supposed to limit the lawmakers.) They are so slick.

Man! What a POS president.
I see Bush also clarified his understanding of constitutionally limited government.

"But congress passed a law! Congress passed a law!"

If congress passes a law that the president likes, that trumps the constitution according to Bush.

Jim, great to see you in Reston. Why this malcontent gets any time with the press is beyond me. This guy uses the word freedom and liberty the same way Stalin used the gulags. The only thing going for him is that most Americans don't recognize that indeed he is overseeing an empire; an empire that will hopefully soon collapse.

Just do as our govt says.

Neocons and war profiteers have been bastardizing freedom too. Shrub learned to lie from them (for profit.) They bastardized everything from freedom to patriotism to truth itself. So now, Americanos wouldn't know fact from fiction.

Shrub believes the Brits should be grateful (his way of denying the hurtful truth).

He gets his politics from the mega church preacher.

This just proves my hunch that Charles Manson no longer gets any respect.

Maureen Dowd has a divine column today on Bush's claim that he is suffering from "hopeless Idealism."

The Mal-Locutioner In Chief asserting that any dissent against his cockeyed Prisoner of War Camps is "slandering America" is vaguely akin to Charles Manson asserting that people speeding on Ventura Boulevard are sadistic killers.

This President has been a one-man font of American auto-slander and we are left with his remaining days providing a new definition of "lame duck". He says his "library" will include a "Freedom Institute". This coming from a President who has done more to set back the protection of American Civil Liberties than anyone since Adams enacted the alien and Sedition Laws. At least Adams executed his act of desperation while we were a weak and un-tried nation. This President and his trigger-happy Vice President, aided and abetted by a platoon of Neo-Conservative Wingnuts more idiotic than even the most brazen Elmer Gantry ...they have taken us from a profound position of Post Cold War strength to one of struggling
embarrassment. He may blithely tell the English that there is no objective view of current history but rest assured, the long term judgement of his destructive presidency will be one of unanimous opprobrium. He and his kind cannot vanish from the scene quickly enough. The only thing worse than this Executive is its' counterpart in a feckless Congress, more interested in Steroids in Baseball and horse racing than it is in the defense of the United States Constitution. "Pathetic" is a word sadly insufficient. But, as the Germans so correctly diagnosed during his first protest-free visit, this President is almost gone and is too lame to even protest.
