If the charmed citizenry of the lapsed Republic actually did adopt the mantle of "informed consent" under the HeeHaw Bunko Operation that is our so called government today, well....one can only assume that the public would be exclusively engaged in either suicide or revolt.

When the realities of the wrecked financial system and this silly notion of a service economy finally do play out, it is at best a 50-50 chance that the juvenilized and gelded public will cry for someone to save them. At that juncture, expect the kind of magnanimity that only a strange, uniquely American blend of Elmer Gantry and Napoleon can provide. This is what over 200 years of American History, perverted by the last 6 decades of Public Schools and Consumer Culture have been waiting for.....a spectator unwinding with a rebel yell and a few prayers.

Anybody who thinks the departure of Bush will change a single thing besides the IQ residing in the White House, think again, the armchair crisis junkies are not quite done with their fix.
