It is interesting that a man who liked to parade about the salons of Paris in piss-stained gypsy pantaloons and spent his final years as a paid hermit on the island of a wealthy man should have so much to say about the welfare of the common citizen ...and to be furthermore credited with all manner of adulation for his contributions to so-called "democratic progress". He had some interesting insights and a deft hand at prose but the mudddle-headed devotion to the mysteries of human will triumphing over all have continued to wreak havoc for too long.

The Framers understood the seductions of his philosophy and rightly feared both despotism in monarchy and the despotism of the mob. They created the doctrine of the Separation of Powers and for the last several years, this vital doctrine has been eroding , thus creating the farrago now confronting us. From States Rights to the three branches of Government and a part time legislature, there was a creaky and cumbersome
machinery constructed that insured the checks and balances required to safeguard against creeping
despotism. This new administration seems to enjoy the continuation of the noxious trend and the only change we have seen is going from an administration who fronted the Unitary Executive with a thumb in yer eye to a feel-good administration that fronts the power of the executive as some kind of white-hatted empathic inoculation against all that is evil in the world.

There is a new Moloch in Town and it is called "Efficiency" ...from the "efficiencies of industrialism, corporatism, Empire-knows-best and all manner of other charades, we are efficiently backsliding into the murderous days of yore and into our very own Information Dark Ages.

I've always thought of Rousseau as the father of communism (maybe a little far fetched). I know that Bastiat didn't think much of Rousseau in his "The Law". I've had numerous University grads tell me Rousseau's ideas paralleled our founding fathers. In what way?
As Hitler knew, you can complain all you want, but "I have your children".

Our children are our future leaders (and followers).

Thank you for an informative article
