Our feckless media and altogether too many citizens will assert that this is just the price of doing business in the current dangerous age . They will say law abiding citizens have nothing to fear and that a "few mistakes" will be made but that people are "well meaning" in government. All this may be true but the bottom line is that the Republic prospered for a very long time because it had a structure which kept people honest and assumed innocence until proven guilty. Everyone should be very concerned about these abuses because as government expands and consolidates, more mistakes will be made and government will work harder at avoiding consequences for their mistakes. Needless to say, the form government was not created for good people to prosper so much as to avert the encroachment of malign interests.

It seems to me that malign interests are on the rise.
