Make All Politicians Wear Microphones All the Time

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was wearing a microphone for a TV station as he went out and talked to the common people. But he ran into one elderly ingrate who didn’t burnish his boots.

After he got back into his chauffeured car, he groused that the woman was a “bigot” and wanted to know which aide had allowed her to talk to him.

Typical stuff for lordly politicians - except that the microphone was still turned on.

One Twitter user quipped: “Gordon Brown has created a total surveilance society. Glad to see he got caught out, now he knows how we all feel.”

Another commentor asked: “Anyone else up for making all politicians wear a microphone at all times?”

As long as the National Security Agency is tapping our phone calls and reading our emails, aren’t we at least entitled to know what our rulers actually say, 24/7?
