Was that you? The interviewer clearly said James Bo-VARD. Sounds to me more like it was either your French cousin or your stunt double….

There have been wars amidst my family on the proper pronunciation of the last name.
Some people pronounce the O as if it were a short a.
But, hell’s bells, nobody can figure out how to spell the name when you say it like that.

I need to wheedle Brian into introducing you as, “We’d like to welcome the writer formerly known as James BOvard, James BoVARD.” Granted that risks exploding the heads of a significant portion of his listeners, but it’s not like Toledo will miss five people….

The Ohio audience is much bigger than LawHobbit alluded.
There are probably more than 5 people who want to burn me in effigy after some of the appearances….
On the bright side, Ohioans probably woudl not consider “Bovard” an arcane foreign name, as it was perceived at times where I grew up…
