My “Holy Shit!” Rumsfeld Response Unfit to Print
2:52 pm | Attention Deficit Democracy
Michael Tennant emailed me on Saturday to get my response to the news that Donald Rumsfeld would be receiving the “Defender of the Constitution” award at CPAC. He has a very good article at The New American website with quotes from a number of libertarians and conservatives bashing the award.
Tennant notes that my “two-word response when asked what he thought of Rumsfeld’s award cannot be reproduced here.”
“Holy Shit!”
Doesn’t anyone appreciate brevity any more?

You have a great career ahead of you as a talk show host.
Short.
But a great career nonetheless…

Not just brevity, but also clarity. Everybody knows what “holy shit!” means.
Maybe you could have a contest for folks to create a “printable” version, like “sacred scat!”. But it probably wouldn’t have the same punch as the original.

It only took him 35 years to implement the Unitary Executive theory he concocted with Cheney in the wake of Watergate. Truly, CPAC should give him the award, and henceforth the SCOTUS should defer all questions to The Right Honorable Donald Rumsfeld for adjudication.
Roy Bean will end up looking like an angel.
