My Praise for Obama in FFF Libertarian Alternative Podcast

I had fun joining Jacob Hornberger and Richard Ebeling on the Future of Freedom Foundation Libertarian Alternative podcast yesterday. I was bummed that Richard wasn’t wearing a Clemson National Champions hat (Richard is now a professor at The Citadel). We had fun rehashing some of the prime debacles of the last 8 years.

Half way through the interview, I acknowledged that Obama deserves credit for resisting the push of the US political establishment to go to war with Iran. Not getting dragged into a major war was perhaps his biggest achievement. As I mentioned earlier in the interview, the US is currently bombing 7 different nations and Obama’s drone killing program is a moral, constitutional, and political disaster. There’s a heap to criticize – but it could have been worse.

Here’s the outtake of my comments giving credit to Obama on Iran:

Here’s a link to a 2003 FFF oped I wrote on the folly of going to war with Iran (which plenty of Bush advisors & supporters were championing)
