The photo on the left is from a family visit to the Gettysburg battlefield<\/a> in 1966.\u00a0 The photo on the right is from this past weekend at the Fredericksburg, Va. battlefield<\/a>.\u00a0 The main difference is that I long since abandoned the Confederate cap for an “F Troop” style hat.\u00a0\u00a0 Plus, the beard.\u00a0 Okay, and maybe an increase in across-the-board scruffiness.<\/p>\n

Also, instead of pretending to fire the cannon, I am now content to brandish a camera lens cover.<\/p>\n
