Team Biden dumps ditzy disinfo czar Nina Jankowicz\u2014\u00a0but its board remains a threat to free speech<\/a><\/h1>\n

The New York Post led the charge to expose the left-wing zealot that Team Biden chose to head its new Disinformation Governance Board, its Ministry of Truth.<\/p>\n

The Post showcased Nina Jankowicz shilling for the suppression of information<\/a> on Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop (first revealed by The Post) before the 2020 election. The Post highlighted her TikTok version of a \u201cMary Poppins\u201d song warning \u201cInformation laundering<\/a> is really quite ferocious\u201d and her YouTube Christmas parody song performance, \u201cWho do I f\u2013k <\/a>to be famous and powerful?\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanks to a vigorous backlash by conservative media and activists, Team Biden has hit the \u201cpause\u201d button on the Disinformation Board and Jankowicz submitted her resignation Wednesday. The Washington Post<\/a> reported that the Department of Homeland Security decided to close the board Monday but is hesitating to pull the plug: \u201cWorking groups within DHS focused on mis-, dis- and mal-information have been suspended.\u201d The board could be reactivated at any point, especially if the Biden team can find a more credible boss.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post piece on the controversy was a classic of pro-Leviathan propaganda.<\/strong> It was written by Taylor Lorenz, who recently achieved fame after a tearful performance on MSNBC<\/a> about how online criticism made her consider suicide. Lorenz\u2019s pity party ignored her record exposing the personal lives of people she targets. Last month, she doxxed the conservative<\/a> lady who runs the Libs of TikTok Twitter account. Lorenz justified investigating that person because she could have been a foreigner<\/a>. (The lady was an American citizen, but no matter.)<\/p>\n

Lorenz quotes an unnamed DHS spokesperson: \u201cThe Board\u2019s purpose has been grossly mischaracterized; it will not police speech. . . . Its focus is to ensure that freedom of speech is protected.\u201d Geez, why didn\u2019t the Founding Fathers think of adding a clause to the First Amendment creating a nefarious-sounding government agency to ride shotgun on the nation\u2019s media?<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to The Washington Post, the fact that Jankowicz was a Fulbright scholar and had \u201cstints at multiple nonpartisan think tanks\u201d proves she had no desire to censor. The paper did not let Jankowicz\u2019s own words get in the way of the absolution.<\/p>\n

Jankowicz believes that \u201ctrustworthy experts\u201d such as herself (she boasts that she is \u201cverified\u201d by Twitter) should be empowered to \u201cedit\u201d other people\u2019s tweets <\/a>to \u201cadd context.\u201d She denounced Loudoun County, Va., parents who complained about left-wing school curriculum for \u201cdisinformation\u201d and \u201cweaponizing people\u2019s emotion<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jankowicz previously worked for StopFake, a federally funded media-influence operation<\/strong> that in 2018 \u201cbegan aggressively whitewashing<\/a> two Ukrainian neo-Nazi groups with a long track record of violence, including war crimes,\u201d even dabbling \u201cwith Holocaust distortion, downplaying WWII-era paramilitaries who slaughtered Jews as mere \u2018historic figures\u2019 and Ukrainian nationalist leaders,\u201d as The Nation reported.<\/p>\n

How does The Washington Post know that Jankowicz is trustworthy? Lorenz\u2019s article includes three references to an organization called Advance Democracy, which she identifies as \u201ca nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that conducts public-interest research.\u201d Is that why Daniel Jones, Advance Democracy\u2019s president, ran another organization \u2014 the Democracy Integrity Project \u2014 that \u201csent $959,613 to Fusion GPS in 2018 and $3,323,924 in 2017 for a total of $5,506,251, along with sending [British ex-spy Christopher Steele\u2019s] company $197,608 in 2018 and $251,689 in 2017 for a total of $1,149,297,\u201d as the Washington Examiner<\/a> reported based on IRS tax returns?<\/p>\n

The lies in the Steele dossier propelled FBI surveillance of the Trump campaign and spurred years of Russiagate vitriol that was not debunked until special counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s report in 2019. Jankowicz continued cheering for Steele <\/a>long after his dossier had been shot to pieces<\/a> by the Justice Department inspector general<\/a>.<\/p>\n
