Biden bribed young voters with student loan bailouts he knew he couldn\u2019t give<\/a><\/h1>\n

President Biden tweeted this afternoon, \u201cThe recent elections made an emphatic statement that in America, the will of the people prevails.\u201d<\/p>\n

But was it the will of Millennials and Gen-Z voters to be bamboozled by Team Biden and the Democratic Party?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hopes for a red wave of Republican victories on Election Day were shattered by the 28% advantage that voters<\/a> in the 18-29 age group delivered to Democratic candidates. Two days after the election, Biden tweeted, \u201cI want to thank the young people of this nation\u201d who voted for \u201cstudent debt relief.\u201d Jon Cooper, a former top Biden campaign operative, tweeted, \u201cYoung people: You saved our butts. THANK YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n

Legions of young voters were energized to support Democrats by Biden\u2019s Aug. 24 announcement that he was forgiving up to $20,000 of student debt per person, which would cost taxpayers $400 billion-plus.<\/p>\n

While the votes that 20-somethings delivered last Tuesday are irrevocable, Biden\u2019s student debt relief is contingent on federal court approval. And his bailout is being shot to pieces in courtrooms across the nation.<\/p>\n

Two days after the election, federal judge Mark Pittman struck down the bailout as an unconstitutional decree: \u201cIn this country, we are not ruled by an all-powerful executive with a pen and a phone. Instead, we are ruled by a Constitution that provides for three distinct and independent branches of government.\u201d Pittman rejected the \u201cemergency\u201d basis of the order in part because Biden had proclaimed on \u201c60 Minutes\u201d that \u201cthe pandemic is over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Democrats responded by vilifying Judge Pittman. Sen. Elizabeth Warren denounced the \u201clawless ruling from a Trump-appointed judge.\u201d So any judge who doesn\u2019t recognize that presidents are entitled to boundless power is \u201clawless\u201d?<\/p>\n

Last Friday, the Biden administration announced that it was temporarily closing the window for individuals to apply for student-loan forgiveness. Twenty-six million applications had already been received but their fate is in legal limbo.<\/p>\n

But on Monday afternoon, a federal appeals court in St. Louis unanimously voted to impose a nationwide \u201cinjunction considering the irreversible impact the Secretary\u2019s debt forgiveness action would have\u201d on \u201cAmericans who pay taxes to finance the government.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some activists believe Biden intentionally swindled young voters with a bait-and-switch scheme. Briahna Joy Gray, who was the press secretary for Bernie Sanders\u2019 2020 presidential campaign, asked, \u201cDid Biden RIG student debt forgiveness to fail, just to help him in midterms?\u201d She explained on Twitter: \u201cThey used the promise of student debt cancellation to induce young voter turn out \u2014 knowing it wasn\u2019t going anywhere [because] they relied on faulty legal authority. Hard to convince me the Biden admin didn\u2019t do this intentionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fordham law professor Jed Shugerman derided Biden\u2019s plan<\/a> as a \u201clegal mess\u201d that could lose 9-0 at the Supreme Court. Other court challenges will likely deliver further floggings to the bailout.<\/p>\n
