Liberals have learned nothing in the Biden era<\/a><\/h1>\n

Though 2022 was a feast for cynics,<\/strong> The Washington Post is confident that next year will be much happier \u2014 at least for Democrats. The DC newspaper this week published a piece called \u201c15 Reasons You Should be Hopeful for 2023<\/a>.\u201dIt should have been called \u00ad\u201cliberals have learned nothing in the Biden era.\u201d<\/p>\n

The vast power of the Justice Department is at the top of the article\u2019s list for reasons for \u201chope.\u201d Post columnist Jennifer Rubin gushes over the likelihood that Donald Trump will be indicted on criminal charges <\/a>and hectors readers: \u201cAccountability is a critical component for democracies, and . . . we are seeing the guardrails of democracy and the rule of law reestablished.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the Post\u2019s glorified guardrails include a \u201cDo Not Enter\u201d sign for Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop and plenty of other federal rascality.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Post columnist E.J. Dionne whoops up \u201cthe next generation\u201d and valorizes \u201cdemocratization powered by the energy of the young.\u201d But the most visible example of Millennials\u2019 and Gen Z\u2019s activism is their endless clamoring to have their federal student debt expunged<\/a>. When did forcing other people to pay your debts become the height of idealism?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Post columnist Jonathan Capehart trumpets the \u201cDemocrats\u2019 Senate Majority\u201d as the Great Hope of 2023. Capehart says that Senate majority was achieved \u201cby some kind of gravity-defying political sorcery (and incredible candidates).\u201d He didn\u2019t mention the shift to mail-in ballots, or President Biden\u2019s shameless demagoguery (denouncing Republicans as fascists) on the campaign trail.Regardless, Democratic senators will help safeguard \u201cthe constitutional rights that make us a beacon for the world.\u201d As long as the Post continues ignoring how federal agencies trample those constitutional rights, Americans will live happily ever after.<\/strong><\/p>\n
