Will \u2018no regrets\u2019 be Biden\u2019s epitaph as the classified docs pile up?<\/a><\/h1>\n

“I have no regrets,\u201d<\/a> President Joe Biden rotely read from a folder with scripted answers Thursday in California when asked about the classified-document scandal. The next day, FBI agents spent 13 hours searching his Wilmington, Del., home<\/a> and found six more batches of papers with an undisclosed number of classified documents.<\/p>\n

Gross negligence in safeguarding classified documents<\/a> carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years for each offense. Biden is betting his presidency that Americans will view him as an innocent victim of paperwork circumstances \u2014 despite at least five separate discoveries of classified papers.<\/p>\n

Biden castigated the female reporter who asked the question: \u201cYou know what, quite frankly, bugs me is that we have a serious problem here we\u2019re talking about. . . . And the American people don\u2019t quite understand why you don\u2019t ask me questions about that.\u201d Did Biden believe Americans awaited breathlessly to hear him condemn California\u2019s excessive rainfall?<\/p>\n

Following this scandal is like watching a sporting championship with a 30-day delay and a fuzzy video feed. The White House and Justice Department waited two months to reveal the president may have racked up federal felonies. Biden\u2019s White House<\/a> was \u201cplanning to disclose the matter only after<\/a> Justice issued its all-clear\u201d exonerating the president, according to The Washington Post. Biden\u2019s advisers decided \u201cto only react to what was publicly known\u201d \u2014 i.e., what they were unable to conceal.<\/p>\n

They and Biden \u201cgambled that without going public, they could convince the Justice Department that the matter was little more than a minor, good-faith mistake,\u201d The New York Times reports<\/a>. Did Team Biden discover a \u201cfiled in the wrong place\u201d exemption in the statute book?<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Biden claimed, \u201cWe immediately turned . . . over\u201d to the National Archives and Justice Department the classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center Nov. 2. Why was there a six-week delay<\/a> for additional searches on other Biden properties?<\/p>\n
