href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/02\/09\/several-biden-officials-unlawfully-working-in-their-positions\/\">Biden administration<\/a> is planning to charge another thousand <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/12\/13\/republican-support-for-2024-trump-bid-falling-poll-shows\/\">Trump supporters<\/a> with crimes related to the Jan. 6 Capitol clash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This will perpetuate an atmosphere of political emergency that justifies <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/16\/biden-undecided-on-covid-bill-that-passed-congress-unanimously\/\">President Joe Biden\u2019s<\/a> war on domestic extremism.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But a change in federal judges has turned the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/18\/steve-bannons-trial-for-defying-jan-6-committee-to-begin\/\">Jan. 6 trials<\/a> into a kangaroo court and makes a mockery of sending nonviolent Trump supporters to prison for threatening American democracy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than a thousand people have already been charged with Jan. 6 offenses.<\/p>\n<p>That is equal to almost half of the total number of protesters who entered the Capitol that day.<\/p>\n<p>A corrupt numbers game is at the heart of the Biden propaganda-prosecution campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The more people indicted for Jan. 6, the easier it becomes for the Biden reelection campaign to portray the president as the savior against right-wing tyranny.<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 6 is also Biden\u2019s primary proof America is in grave danger from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2021\/10\/21\/biden-jan-6-capitol-riot-white-supremacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">white supremacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden White House has already exploited the Capitol clash to sanctify federal censorship.<\/p>\n<p>Biden White House Digital Director Robert Flaherty invoked Jan. 6 to browbeat Facebook into increasing its suppression of true criticisms of COVID policies and vaccines.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n<div class=\"inline-module inline-module--related-post\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n<h2 class=\"inline-module__heading widget-heading widget-heading--underline\"><\/h2>\n<div class=\"story story--i-flex story--i-flex-none-lg\">\n<div the Jan. 6 protesters who violently attacked police or wantonly destroyed public property have already been justifiably charged by the feds.<\/p>\n<p>But Biden prosecutors are ruining people\u2019s lives for \u201cparading without a permit\u201d <em>near <\/em>the Capitol that day.<\/p>\n<p>With another thousand cases in the works, will they vilify anyone who allegedly had seditious thoughts within a mile of the Capitol?<\/p>\n<p>Pro-Trump groups had official permits to protest Jan. 6 near the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>Video from that day shows police and perhaps undercover agents or informants dismantling barriers that blocked protesters from entering prohibited areas.<\/p>\n<p>The full role of undercover federal agents or operatives on Jan. 6 remains secret.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, collective guilt was speedily attached to all protesters.<\/p>\n<p>Capitol Police Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman told Congress that Jan. 6 involved \u201ca terrorist attack by tens of thousands of insurrectionists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pittman\u2019s statement sounded deranged in 2021 but has since morphed into Team Biden conventional wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI classifies all <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/15\/white-house-calls-capitol-riot-domestic-terrorist-attack-in-report\/\">Jan. 6 defendants as \u201cdomestic terrorists\u201d<\/a> \u2014 even though only a small percentage of the Trump protesters engaged in violence that day, and most have only been convicted on misdemeanor charges.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n<div class=\"inline-module inline-module--related-post\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n<h2 class=\"inline-module__heading widget-heading widget-heading--underline\"><\/h2>\n<div class=\"story whistleblowers reveal that FBI bosses \u201chave pressured agents to move cases into the [domestic violence and extremism] category to hit self-created performance metrics,\u201d Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) recounted.<\/p>\n<p>FBI Special Agent Garret O\u2019Boyle said that \u201cthe FBI made him divide one domestic terrorism case into \u2018four different cases,\u2019\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/fbi-threat-tag-created-supreme-courts-dobbs-ruling-shifted-focus-pro-lifers-whistleblower-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News reported<\/a>, \u201cto show Congress an influx of domestic-terrorism cases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If the Jan. 6 court cases were heard by juries of the defendants\u2019 peers, federal prosecutors would likely be striking out far and wide.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, all the cases are being heard in Washington with juries stocked with government employees who believe everything they hear on NPR.<\/p>\n<p>At least one judge is blocking Jan. 6 defendants from access to Capitol security footage <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/07\/jan-6-footage-shows-doj-court-focused-on-shamans-costume-not-crime\/\">Tucker Carlson<\/a> already aired recently.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday, the new chief judge for the DC federal circuit overseeing all Jan. 6 prosecutions is James Boasberg.<\/p>\n<p>Boasberg was the guardian angel for a corrupt FBI official whose actions helped open the floodgates to political chaos and pervasive distrust.<\/p>\n<p>Former FBI Assistant General Counsel Kevin Clinesmith confessed in 2020 to falsifying key evidence to get a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to spy on the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>That investigation spurred a torrent of leaks of classified information by the FBI (including by chief James Comey) and the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.<\/p>\n<p>His investigation roiled national politics for two years before Mueller admitted there was no evidence to prosecute Trump or his campaign officials for colluding with Russia in the 2016 campaign.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single__inline-module inline-module inline-module--newsletter alignleft\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__icon\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"single__inline-module inline-module inline-module--newsletter alignleft\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n<form class=\"inline-module__form newsletter-form\" data-nypost-editor=\"newsletter-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form__notice\">\n<p class=\"t-color-black m-bottom-none\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/form>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Federal prosecutors wanted the disgraced FBI lawyer sent to prison because his crime\u2019s \u201cresulting harm is immeasurable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Boasberg gushed with sympathy for the confessed criminal: \u201cMr. Clinesmith has lost his job in government service \u2014 what has given his life much of its meaning.\u201d Boasberg gave Clinesmith a wrist slap \u2014 400 hours of community service and 12 months of probation.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department inspector general documented many abuses of power and deceit by FBI officials in the Trump investigation, but not a single FBI official has spent a day behind bars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does Boasberg believe federal agents have a right to subvert our democracy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Videos Tucker Carlson released show legions of protestors walking peacefully through the Capitol Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can federal prosecutors hound citizens who committed no violence after the chief federal judge practically absolved the FBI official whose crime helped open a political\u00a0Pandora\u2019s box?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We still don\u2019t know all that happened inside the Capitol Jan. 6, and <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/06\/mccarthy-to-meet-with-taiwans-president-in-calif\/\">House Speaker Kevin McCarthy<\/a> promises to \u201cslowly roll out\u201d the 40,000 hours of surveillance footage to every news agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But Team Biden\u2019s plan to sacrifice another thousand Americans on the Jan. 6 altar is a travesty of justice and due process.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>James Bovard is the author of 10 books and a member of the USA Today Board of Contributors.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York Post, March 17, 2023 Team Biden\u2019s charging 1,000 more with Jan. 6 crimes to perpetuate a fake political emergency by James Bovard The Biden administration is planning to charge another thousand Trump supporters with crimes related to the Jan. 6 Capitol clash.
