Who would have guessed freedom of speech would become the biggest barrier to saving humanity? Luckily, a fix is pending from the billionaires, political poohbahs and other weasels attending this week\u2019s World Economic Forum<\/a> in Davos, Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>WEF has two big goals this year: \u201crebuild trust\u201d and \u201ccrush dissent.\u201d<\/p>\n

OK, that last one is a paraphrase.<\/p>\n

Instead, WEF is proclaiming the greatest peril humanity faces is \u201cmisinformation and disinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

And how can we recognize \u201cmisinformation\u201d?<\/p>\n

Easy: It denies that Davos cronies should rule the world.<\/p>\n

OK, that\u2019s another paraphrase.<\/p>\n

WEF\u2019s latest Global Risks Report warns, \u201cSome governments and platforms . . . may fail to act to effectively curb falsified information and harmful content, making the definition of \u2018truth\u2019 increasingly contentious across societies.\u201d In other words, governments must suppress \u201cfalsified\u201d information to save truth.<\/p>\n

WEF presumes governments are founts of truth \u2014 regardless of millennia of political deceit stretching back to the ancient Athens of Aristophanes\u2019 satirical plays. Or maybe it considers \u201ctruth\u201d the same type of luxury nowadays as eating meat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the COVID pandemic erupted, WEF rushed to proclaim the need for a \u201cgreat reset\u201d to radically increase politicians\u2019 power over every aspect of modern life. Unfortunately, radically decreasing the non-elite\u2019s living standards is the only way to save the planet, according to the fashionable experts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

British environmental activist Jojo Mehta performed one of Davos\u2019 wackiest shows. She hectored attendees to recognize that people making money from farming or fishing could be as guilty as people committing \u201cmass murder and genocide.\u201d But if the elites succeed in stopping farmers from farming and fishermen from fishing, future Swiss shindigs may run short of caviar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are barely 2,000 days away from the halcyon time \u2014 the year 2030 \u2014 when WEF promised \u201cYou\u2019ll own nothing and be happy.\u201d (Davos attendees are exempt, of course.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recent political reforms in many nations have furthered the first promise, ravaging private property rights and subverting individual independence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the world\u2019s kingpins will need to tighten all the mental thumbscrews for propertyless serfs to \u201cbe happy.\u201d Public euphoria could be in especially short supply considering other policies championed in Davos.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndividual carbon footprint trackers\u201d<\/strong> are a popular panacea at Davos, and WEF has proposed the \u201csetting of acceptable limits for personal emissions.\u201d How many burps will it take to get sent to Re-Education Camp?<\/p>\n

Footprint trackers will be useless without imposing universal \u201cdigital identification,\u201d another WEF pet project. How can government \u201cserve\u201d people unless it can find and accost them at any moment, day or night?<\/p>\n

WEF is also gung-ho on central-bank digital currencies. The US dollar has lost 97% of its value since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, but politicians deserve more arbitrary power over the currency, right?\u00a0 (Never forget: \u201cCash is printed freedom.\u201d)<\/p>\n

The Davos crowd\u2019s swagger is beyond parody. \u201cWe will make sure that we bring together the right people,\u201d WEF President Borge Brende promised, \u201cto see how we can solve this very challenging world.\u201d<\/p>\n

But how can they have the right people when neither you nor I was invited?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Davos offers platitudes for democracy while championing ironfisted paternalist policies. That\u2019s why pervasive censorship is vital to carry out WEF-favored schemes to force common people to stop bothering the environment. Government policies will be propelled by alarmist pronouncements that private citizens could debunk.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With WEF-sanctioned censorship, self-government could be replaced by \u201cone person, one vote, one time.\u201d Whoever wins a national election will take control of the censorship regime and exploit it to insulate and perpetuate their power.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We already saw that here. Censorship helped President Biden<\/a> win the 2020 election, and his administration proceeded to carry out potentially \u201cthe most massive attack against free speech in United States history,\u201d according to federal Judge Terry Doughty.(The Supreme Court will settle that censorship controversy.)<\/p>\n

But there is a specter haunting the Davos crowd. WEF Chairman Klaus Schwab recently warned of \u201can anti-system which is called libertarianism, which means to tear down everything which creates some kind of influence of government into private lives.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

But it is not libertarians\u2019 fault that Schwab\u2019s standard for \u201csome kind of influence of government\u201d spurred cynics to claim WEF stands for World Enslavement Forum.<\/p>\n

The most effective rebuttal at Davos of its sirens of subjugation came from the newly elected president of Argentina.<\/p>\n

Javier Milei exhorted the friends of freedom around the globe: \u201cDo not be intimidated either by the political class or the parasites who live off of the state. The state is the problem itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milei\u2019s scoff at people \u201cmotivated by the wish to belong to a privileged caste\u201d was perhaps the ultimate face slap for the self-proclaimed saviors in Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n
