{"id":19078,"date":"2024-01-24T19:41:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-25T00:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jimbovard.com\/blog\/?p=19078"},"modified":"2024-01-25T09:09:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T14:09:49","slug":"tsa-outrages-new-hampshire-pratfalls-and-swift-boat-veterans-for-climate-change-brian-wilson-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jimbovard.com\/blog\/2024\/01\/24\/tsa-outrages-new-hampshire-pratfalls-and-swift-boat-veterans-for-climate-change-brian-wilson-podcast\/","title":{"rendered":"TSA Outrages, New Hampshire Pratfalls, and Swift Boat Veterans for Climate Change &#8211; Brian Wilson Podcast"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Twenty-two minutes of mirth &amp; political derision<strong> &#8211; the <a href=\"https:\/\/brianwilsonwrites.substack.com\/p\/the-two-and-only-brian-wilson-and-d3e?utm_source=podcast-email%2Csubstack&amp;publication_id=1345195&amp;post_id=141016123&amp;utm_campaign=email-play-on-substack&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;r=b7l78#play\">latest Two and Only Podcast<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>For more wit and insights from Talk Show Legend Brian Wilson, check out <strong>https:\/\/brianwilsonwrites.substack.com\/<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>January 24 episode highlights:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Brian welcomed listeners to \u201cthe <strong>Existential Threat episode<\/strong> of The Two and Only, our weekly calculation of the roadkill of human rights littering the halls of Congress and displayed as trophies at White House press briefings right alongside the parchment shredder used for the decimating of the Constitution and the quaint Bill of Rights.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Brian touted me as a \u201crecent recipient of the <strong>TSA\u2019s Scruffy Beard Award<\/strong>, a template for its new facial recognition for potential terrorist software.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I replied that \u201cit\u2019s possible to take the boy out of the mountains but you can\u2019t take the mountains out of the boy.\u201d Or at least that\u2019s my excuse this week for the beard.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding coverage of the New Hampshire primary,\u00a0 Brian derided media bias: \u201cThe CBS and AP have each published articles detailing how only New Hampshire Rednecks, deplorables, gun and Bible-huggers, and high school graduates voted for Trump, while college-educated, white-collar, Mensa and DAR members, corporate officers, and everyone on the raised-pinkie roster voted for Nikki Haley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I commented: \u201cThe media still thinks it\u2019s standing on Mount Olympus, waiting to judge every different group of the American populace.\u201d I observed that the same pattern prevailed \u201call the way back since 1980\u00a0 when the media denigrated Ronald Reagan supporters.\u00a0 It was if people had to be some kind of racist gun owner knucklehead in order to support this Hollywood guy instead of Jimmy Carter, who was in the Navy and did not sink any submarines there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>I commented that there was even greater hostility nowadays towards libertarians:\u00a0 <strong>&#8220;If you&#8217;re in favor of individual freedom, you are presumed to hate humanity.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong> (Shades of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/01\/17\/opinion\/the-elites-absurd-davos-crusade-destroy-freedom-to-save-humanity\/\"><strong>World Economic Forum<\/strong><\/a>!)<\/p>\n<p>We smacked around TSA&#8217;s latest surveillance idiocy.
