The Biden Re-Election Victory Parade hit a pothole the size of Ohio on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The latest consumer price data show inflation<\/a> is accelerating and hitting an annual rate of almost 5%.<\/p>\n

Democrats fear the inflation rate could soon be higher than President Biden\u2019s approval rating.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In January 2022, I predicted here that inflation would politically bankrupt Biden<\/a> \u2014 that it would be \u201cthe wrecking ball that could politically destroy Biden.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Team Biden storyline, inflation went from a nonexistent threat in 2021 to transient in 2022 to simply a bad memory in 2024. But along the way, the purchasing power of the American dollar fell by almost 20%.<\/p>\n

Regardless, it was bad taste to mention it in public. Biden called Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy <\/a>a \u201cstupid son of a bitch\u201d in 2022 for asking about inflation\u2019s impact.<\/p>\n

Is the Democratic Party incurably out of touch? On MSNBC Wednesday morning, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), who delivered black primary voters and secured Biden the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, was gushing praise for Biden and denouncing complaints about inflation as \u201cdisinformation\u201d from social media.<\/p>\n

The host interrupted him to announce the report of the higher inflation number.<\/p>\n

At a brief press conference Wednesday, Biden boasted the inflation rate isn\u2019t as bad as earlier in his presidency.<\/p>\n

Biden vindicated himself by falsely claiming \u201cinflation was skyrocketing<\/a>\u201d when he took office in early 2021. Actually, the rate was 1.4% \u2014 less than a third of the current 4.8% annualized rate based on last month\u2019s data.<\/p>\n

The Biden administration has the highest rate of food inflation<\/a> since the Nixon administration.<\/p>\n

Edward Snowden quipped that the White House is trying to defuse anger by \u201ctelling people no, no, a shopping cart full <\/a>of groceries has always cost $36,000.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Actually, it is not quite that bad: A $100 cart of groceries in 2019 now costs $137<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Georgia Democratic Party leader Stacey Abrams<\/a> touted abortion as the ultimate fix: \u201cHaving children is why you\u2019re worried . . . about how much food costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said in a speech that \u201cthe president is out there too much talking about bridges. . . . You go to the grocery store and, you know, eggs and milk are expensive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Team Biden portrays Americans as a bunch of pitiful whiners for complaining about inflation. But the problem is much worse than the White House admits.<\/p>\n

Inflation data epitomize how federal statistics can be a weapon of mass deception.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Larry Summers, Bill Clinton\u2019s treasury secretary, recently observed that if the feds today used the same inflation gauges used in the 1970s, Biden\u2019s peak inflation would have been 18%, twice as high as the reported number.<\/p>\n

Mortgage costs are no longer counted in federal inflation data<\/strong>. Since Biden took office, the average monthly mortgage payment for a new home has almost doubled, reaching $3,322 per month.<\/p>\n

But that pummeling price increase and locking millions of families out of home-buying opportunities is irrelevant to the official inflation gauge.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s media allies are hectoring Americans to stop grumbling about the vanishing purchasing power of their dollars.<\/p>\n

An economic professor in the New York Times recently portrayed inflation fears as merely an \u201cmacroeconomic anxiety attack\u201d and told readers: \u201cDon\u2019t Worry. Be Happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Washington Post showcased a professor who told families earning less than $289,000 per year to \u201cadjust\u201d to inflation by eating lentils instead of meat, ditching their car and taking public transit and maybe letting their pets<\/a> die<\/strong>. Veterinary costs<\/a> are rising at 8% a year.<\/p>\n

Biden has been an inflation pyromaniac while boasting of being the world\u2019s greatest firefighter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a 2022 speech to Democratic members of Congress, Biden raged at being blamed for inflation: \u201cWe have to talk about it because the American people think the reason for inflation is the government spending more money. Simply. Not. True<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not? Biden has driven up the cost of gasoline by pursuing expensive green policies. He\u2019s backed higher costs for business through taxes and higher wages. And he\u2019s spent, spent, spent.<\/p>\n

Biden wants to \u201cfight\u201d inflation by illegally forgiving more hundreds of billions of dollars of federal student debt and \u201cbuilding and renovating more than 2 million homes,\u201d he announced Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Does Biden still believe endless trillion-dollar budget deficits will solve all that ails America?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Biden is in a much weaker position now than when inflation first surged in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Far more Americans doubt his character and competence, and he seems more clueless each time he denies the ravages of the inflation he unleashed.
