Steve of the Aging Hipster Blog had an excellent post<\/strong> <\/a>this weekend debunking Harry Truman.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For at least 3 decades, Truman has been in the Pantheon of Great or Near-Great Presidents – someone who supposedly stood up for principle and scorned the gales of popular opinion.<\/p>\n

As usual, this is bunkum.\u00a0 Steve lays out\u00a0how\u00a0 Truman paved the way for\u00a0subsequent presidents to commence wars in contempt of the Constitution, Congress, and the American people.<\/p>\n

I hope\u00a0Steve is a bellwether among enlightened Democrats.\u00a0 He is a big Kucinich supporter who also has kind words for Ron Paul.\u00a0 He is a high school teacher and coach who is writing a history of the Mississippi regiment in the Civil War in which one of his ancestors served.\u00a0\u00a0 His Aging Hipster<\/em> blog is a lot of fun, even for people not from the Deep South.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
