Ron Paul<\/a><\/strong> scored a big upset today, coming in #2 in the Nevada primary.\u00a0 It is bracing to see him whup McCain, Thompson, Huckabee, and Guiliani in convincing fashion.<\/p>\n

The race between Paul and\u00a0the winner, Romney, may have been closer\u00a0with a little bit of\u00a0luck.\u00a0 The Nevada GOP continually changed the rules and changed the locations for the caucusing; the Paul campaign formally protested yesterday.<\/p>\n

Paul’s margin may have also been hurt because of the clock.<\/p>\n

Nevada has a large Mormon population, and\u00a0many of them turned out to vote for Romney.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nevada has many libertarians, and plenty of them turned out for Paul.<\/p>\n

But the caucusing started at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning – a time of day far more conducive to Mormons than to libertarians.\u00a0<\/p>\n
