McClatchy News Service reports that the CIA reportedly was caught spying <\/a>on the Senate Intelligence Committee.\u00a0 This is the type of story that, served along with breakfast, is even better than a Dunkin Donuts vanilla cr\u00e8me donut.\u00a0\u00a0 The CIA was riled up because the Senate Committee crafted a massive report on the failure and crimes of the CIA’s torture regime.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0brouhaha is ill-timed for the administration’s campaign to restore faith in government.\u00a0 The result:\u00a0 another Obama speech on why Americans have a patriotic duty to trust the government.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Obama will assure us that we have nothing to fear from CIA spying\u00a0because of the great oversight job Congress does.<\/p>\n

And maybe Cass Sunstein can write another oped, lecturing senators on why they should not be paranoid<\/a>.<\/p>\n
