Hillary Clinton<\/strong> sent out a tweet <\/a>today with this photo and the following message: “One week to Election Day. RT this if it describes you.” More than 3000 people have re-tweeted it\u00a0thus far. \u00a0 I hope that most of the re-tweeters did not look as airy as Hillary does in this photo that her campaign cherishes.\u00a0\u00a0Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright<\/strong>, the Butcher of Belgrade<\/strong><\/a>, declared earlier this year that there is a “special place in hell<\/a>” for women who did not support Hillary.\u00a0 But plenty of ladies have rejected the dictate to vote on the gender party line.\u00a0 As someone with the Twitter tag of Lady Honey Badger <\/a>quipped, “I vote with my lady smarts, not based on my lady parts.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Here’s a piece I did for Counterpunch<\/strong> on this topic last year.\u00a0Unfortunately, Hillary’s campaign has\u00a0failed to devise a vagina theme for Obama’s 2008 “hope and change” mantra. \u00a0As the final paragraph warned, the fact that Hillary is a politician is far more important than her being a woman – because politicians of all genders have long connived to deceive the public.<\/div>\n

Will \u201cVagina Voters\u201d Devour Democracy?<\/h1>\n

Wear gloves on Election Day!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cFat-O-Sphere\u201d author Kate Harding announced plans to \u201cvote with my vagina<\/a>\u201d for Hillary Clinton.\u00a0Harding said\u00a0 her voting was guided in part by her difficult menstrual cycles. I wonder who she would vote for if she was suffering from hemorrhoids. (Coincidentally, Mike Huckabee entered the presidential race last week.)<\/p>\n

According to her life story in the Dame Magazine article,\u00a0Harding\u2019s political epiphany was also shaped by a male gynecologist who she felt was insufficiently sympathetic to her south-side discomfort.\u00a0\u00a0But, to prove that she is not a man-hater, she stresses: \u201cI would absolutely not prefer the Sarah Palin of gynecologists over the Barack Obama of gynecologists, for perfectly obvious reasons.\u201d\u00a0 Personally, I\u2019ve always preferred to keep all politicians away from my private parts.\u00a0\u00a0 Anyone who thinks that Congress can be trusted with such matters should look at the sordid history of the TSA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rather than fresh insights on Leviathan and liberty, Harding rests her political philosophy on a self-evident truth unmentioned in the Declaration of Independence: \u201cThere has never been a president who knows what it\u2019s like to menstruate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harding declares that, even if she did not like Hillary\u2019s positions, \u201cI would probably still vote for her just because she\u2019s a woman.\u201d\u00a0 She ends her piece with a call for women to send their genitalia to the ramparts: \u201cI refuse to listen to anyone who warns against \u201cvagina voting,\u201d when I\u2019m 40 years old and have still never had the opportunity to vote with my damned vagina in a general election. American women have been [menstrual] bleeding for over 200 years while men tell us it\u2019s no big deal, and a lot of us have arrived at the point where we just want someone with a visceral, not abstract, concept of what that means.\u201d<\/p>\n

So does Harding believe that, if Hillary is elected, no woman will ever suffer a painful period again? Instead of the 1928 presidential campaign promise of\u00a0\u201ca chicken in every pot,\u201d will\u00a0Hillary pledge to banish ragtime blues from the land?<\/p>\n

Spiked Online editor Brendan O\u2019Neill<\/a> scoffed at the would-be vagina stampede for Hillary at Reason.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis embrace of the gender card by Clinton and her cronies, this move from thinking with their heads to voting with their vaginas, is being celebrated as a great leap forward. It\u2019s nothing of the sort. It merely confirms the speedy and terrifying shrinking of the political sphere in recent years, with the abstract being elbowed aside by the emotional, and the old focus on ideas and values now playing a very quiet second fiddle to an obsession with identity.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Would a female leader\u00a0likely\u00a0be less bellicose than recent male presidents?\u00a0 After the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, Hillary Clinton only resumed talking to her husband when she phoned him and urged him in the strongest terms to begin bombing Serbia; the next day, Bill Clinton announced that the United States had a \u201cmoral imperative\u201d to stop Serbia\u2019s Milosevic. Counterpunch co-founder Alexander Cockburn observed in 1999 in the Los Angeles Times<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s scarcely surprising that Hillary would have urged President Clinton to drop cluster bombs on the Serbs to defend \u2018our way of life.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 The first lady is a social engineer. She believes in therapeutic policing and the duty of the state to impose such policing. War is more social engineering, \u2018fixitry\u2019 via high explosive, social therapy via cruise missile\u2026 As a tough therapeutic cop, she does not shy away from the most abrupt expression of the therapy: the death penalty.\u201d\u00a0 In the Obama administration, Hillary, Samantha Powers, and Susan Rice have been among the biggest warmongers \u2013 with an unquenchable thirst to bomb Libya, Syria, and other nations.<\/p>\n

What is the male equivalent of \u201cvagina voters\u201d?\u00a0 Dickheads? On the bright side,\u00a0maybe one of Hillary\u2019s zealots will coin a catchy vagina-oriented version of the \u201chope and change\u201d campaign promise.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the greatest folly of \u201cvagina voting\u201d is the presumption that a candidate\u2019s gender is more important than the fact that they are a politician. Politicians have been renowned for deceit for hundreds of years.\u00a0 Hillary, like most of the Republican males in the race, has a long record of brazen deceit. Politicians as a class conspire against the rights and liberties of citizens. And there is no evidence that certain genitalia immunizes a person against Powerlust.<\/p>\n
