Pentagon’s Biggest Lie? “No Surprises” Expected from WikiLeaks

So the pre-leak spin by the Pentagon is that they have already disclosed everything important that will be revealed in the next WikiLeaks document super-dump.

Obama’s Pentagon apparently believes that Americans are as gullible – if not mutton-headed – as the Bush Pentagon believed.

No surprises expected in WikiLeaks Iraq war dump: Pentagon WASHINGTON | Fri Oct 22, 2010 11:21am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Pentagon said on Friday it does not expect any big surprises from an imminent dump of as many as 500,000 Iraq war documents by the WikiLeaks website.

“In terms of the types of incidents that are captured in these reports, where innocent Iraqis have been killed, where there are allegations of detainee abuse, all of these things have been very well chronicled over time,” Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said.

This is the same Pentagon that is still surprised that Saddam didn’t have all the WMDs that Bush/Cheney/et al. alleged.

Well of course the Pentagon didn’t expect any surprises – they already know all the sordid details of their actions.

Frankly, I’m not surprised either. I would only be surprised if the Wikileaks document dump had revealed there was NO depravity.

Apparently, a large number of Americans aren’t surprised either. In fact, the perpetual global war seems to be off their radar completely. They’re worried about important shit like Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.

The Wash. Post treats this as a one-day story – ignoring the fact that the leaked documents prove that the WPost wrote hundreds of false stories because its reporters and editors were groveling at the feet of the Pentagon.

Maybe when WaPo and NYT reporters are good to the Pentagon, they are allowed to torture or assassinate a few evil-doers just for cheap thrills.

Ever notice how the term “embed” sounds a lot like “in bed”?

    That “cheap thrills” thesis… Hmmmm…

On the embed/in bed – If only the Pentagon used a word that sounded more like “boarhawg” – since that is what happens to readers…
