Biding Biden Farewell on the Brian Wilson Podcast

Brian Wilson and I tossed a parting bouquet to Biden after his 11 minute exit speech.  You can hear the podcast on Brian’s Substack page by clicking here

I commented that Biden’s exit speech was a no-win situation for Democrats. If Biden looked coherent, it made no sense for him to cancel his reelection campaign. If he looked hopelessly confused, it made no sense for him to remain as president.

I commented that “I was on the edge of my chair, afraid that Biden would not mention ‘inflection point‘ – his signature phrase.   Servile folks in the DC area have started to use that phrase as their own mental compass.”

Brian said that the “news cycle is moving faster than MSNBC can rewrite Kamala’s political profile.”

I commented, “Biden was talking about how everything was sacred. The Oval Office, this sacred space, the sacred cause of this country, the sacred task of perfecting our union, the sacred idea of America. Biden has worshipped political power his entire life, so it’s no surprise that he had all this religious rhetoric in his valedictorian address.”

On the media’s reversal on Kamala Harris – ending overnight the carping and doubting and providing belated sainthood – I said that “folks who want to understand the media, the date they’ve got to keep in mind is August 22, 1939. Prior to that date, for two or three years before that, all the leftists, all the communists in the media, government and politics were all 100% opposed to Hitler, who was the greatest evil on earth. But on that day, it all flipped because Nazi Germany and the Soviets signed a non-aggression pact. Overnight, all the folks who had been screaming at Hitler went silent, and all of a sudden they were opposed to war, and they were undermined France and Britain from being able to mount a strong defense against the Germans. And you had a lot of intellectuals who pretended that they had not flip-flopped that day, but they did.”

I commented that Kamala Harris is “going for the folks who don’t read much, the so-called low-information voters… But there are lots of ignorant supporters on both political sides in this race.”
