Government Lies Make Leaks Explosive
5:21 pm | Afghanistan | Attention Deficit Democracy | Lying | War crimes
The Pentagon is caterwauling that the next round of WikiLeaks’ disclosures of US government documents will be even more damaging than the last round.
It is always touching to see the world’s most powerful military machine portray itself as a “pitiful, helpless giant” (the phrase Nixon used in his speech announcing his illegal invasion of Cambodia).
WikiLeaks is wreaking havoc primarily because the U.S. government has shoveled so much bilge on Afghanistan for the last 9 years.
The easiest way for the US government to reduce WikiLeaks’ impact is to disclose the truth at the time events occur.
But that is practically like asking a king to surrender his sovereign immunity….

But the question is whether boobus Americanus will really care. I mean, the actions of the ever growing Leviathan are surely of a concern to every…

I read somewhere, perhaps antiwar.com, that Assange had posted a file of some size to his site and titled it ‘Insurance’. Apparently, the Feds are after him and twisting every NATO country’s arm to haul Assange in. Are these the additional documents in question referenced in this Post article or does anyone know?
Considering that almost all of the MSM has almost completely ignored the leaked docs and simply painted Bradley Manning as a loner/homosexual as some sort of motive for his leaks - ignoring what he has actually said were his motives in the chat rooms before he spilled the beans - what do you think would have to be leaked in order to stop - or at least bring into question - the wars in Eastasia?
Obviously killing civilians left, right, and center doesn’t even make the American public flench. We can even watch videos of it. You can read about the physical and environmental damage to Fallujah and other Iraqi towns by depleted uranium. Actual pics of deformed babies at birth….
I’m just not persuaded that the public would get worked up about anything anymore. Sorry to be so pessimistic.

Hobbit - I didn’t know there was a Swaziland version of that game.
Maybe I’ll have to call Comcast and get my cable service re-started.

Wes - WikiLeaks has apparently posted a huge ‘insurance’ file online. I meant to blog on that a few days ago but the letter ‘F’ got jammed on my keyboard.
You might be right about the American public not getting worked up — but it would help if there was some direct tax surcharge on everyone to pay for this @#$@.

Heck with the surcharge, Jim, let’s just get ‘em to do away with withholding and make taxes due and payable on the 15th of April. With elections on the 16th.
