Government Online Surveillance and Your Bad Attitude

This great Dilbert cartoon perfectly captures how surveillance breeds distrust.

The feds are spying on us left and right, and yet politicians whine that we don’t trust the government.

At least not everyone’s a damn fool on that regard. (No - this isn’t the cue to recite the Pledge of Allegiance….)

Jim, if Big Sis doesn’t spy on us then they will have to become productive citizens themselves and who would actually want to go to work, rather than be in charge of their own little government kingdom? Honor and Integrity are for suckers who don’t have government power. So again the market (invisible hand) proves itself to be right again. Minimium labor for maximum gain = working for the government.
