I blogged a year ago the new book from Simon Winder, who edited Lost Rights: The Destruction of American Liberty back in ’93-94. Germania received rave reviews from the Wall Street Journal, the Denver Post, and other American papers (and even more rave reviews in Simon’s UK). Justifiably – because Germania is an affectionate, amusing, captivating story of sides of Deutschland that few foreigners ever perceive. It is a good faith effort to understand both German history and German culture – with plenty of laughs along the way.
