Don’t you wish that people who really voted in this way had some kind of ridiculous telltale residual that would announce to the world their repetitive gullibility? Like maybe permanent bird-dropping on the forehead? Sadly, the new vehicles with their radar-controlled crash-proofiness will make this cartoon an impossibility in a few years!
Good, Lawrence, although the bird-dropping thing would only be funny to people like us. The media and politicians would declare the bird-dropping to be a “badge of honor”, and all too many people would believe it. They’d form a “Bird-dropping Badge of Honor Society” and pay monthly dues with pride.
Sorry to be such a crank; I’m getting fed up with the “civic duty” crowd.
Even worse, they might consent to involuntary withholding from their paychecks to pay for the bird droppings.
alpowolf, yes, I’m losing my patience to. And Jim, surely you are being cynical. The bird-dropping worshippers would surely allow us to check off a donation to their cause on our purely voluntary annual IRS filings, wouldn’t they?
that’s “too”
I would be curious if someone took a survey at Tea Party gatherings — preferably timed right after the Pledge of Allegiance.
how many of those folks believe that taxes are voluntary???
