LawHobbit, one of the most astute (if not idealistic) commentors on this blog, now has his own blog. You can see GunHobbit here He welcomes comments, even from disgruntled G-men.
He promises “A lawyer’s view of guns and money. And politics. And hobbitry in general.”
I always get confused by that last term. Greaseman, the genius DJ who ruled DC radio in the 1980s and 1990s, perpetually referred to “hobbling.” He even created a “Hobble-Dee-Gee” handbook to help slow-witted guys “close the deal” with female acquaintances.
Or maybe there is a tie-in between the two terms that I am missing.
No tie in at all. “Hobbitry” would be “of all things pertaining to hobbits – politics, sociology, economics, etc.” with the consideration (if you think about it) that hobbits are Tolkein’s race entirely lacking in leaders. No dukes or kings or earls or evil overlords. They’re yeoman farmer anarchists, they are. 😀
Good explanation — Now I understand it better.
Might be worth explaining that thumbnail in your opening blog entry – or perhaps on the ‘front page’ of your blog – the one that people would read first when they come to your site.
“Yeoman Farmer Anarchists”…yo ho…Eat Well Or Die
As you alluded L.H., if the life of a community is inherently biological, this here gouty construct we got now is in late stage Alzheimers, not the quaint stage of smiling befuddlement but the early stages of the screaming and scratching incoherence before fading to grey.
