As so many politicians and pundits try to whip up enthusiasm for attacking Iran, we’d be wise to recall the ravages of war on those who actually have to fight and bleed.
I’ve long enjoyed the Old Crow Medicine Show song, “Big Time in the Jungle.” I came across this YouTube video that makes its antiwar message far more potent.

Hopefully the next decade will not see piercing folk songs about the plight of American soldiers fighting in Iran’s Zagros or Elburz Mountains or cutting their way from the Caspian Sea to Strait of Hormuz.
Old Crow Medicine Show also has a powerful rendition of the song, “Ruby Ridge.”
Enjoyed the video and song, thanks
I’m still trying to figure out why so many people buy the story that Iran wants to nuke Israel. That land is sacred to Muslims too. I can understand that Muslims would like to control it; but they’ve no desire to turn it into a smoking radioactive ruin.
I’m somewhat amazed at how the media has peddled a bogus story line on this one – in some ways, even more bogus than 2002-03.
And if the war “happens,” and it turns out to be a catastrophe, we can count on some nitwit congressional committee to announce afterwards that the US govt was once again a victim of “Group Think” because everyone thought Iran was some super-peril.
