Damned unfortunate that Fox Business News blocked Rand Paul from the debate tonight in South Carolina. Here are Twitter messages as the candidates wrangled
[ok, so the photo is a few months old – Carly didn’t make it to the main stage tonight but every other photo I considered was painfully dull]
#GOPDebate Kasich: "most of the time the Saudis are going right with us." Except for helping bankroll the 9/11 attacks.

Jeb Bush talks of the need for "restoring democracy in Syria." How many thousands of years back is he going for his baseline?
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) January 15, 2016
Rubio boasts of GOP candidates – "no one is under FBI investigation." Hey – not that I'm personally biased on this topic, but…

Rubio rants against Edward Snowden – 'if we get hold of him, we will try him for treason' – doesn't mention 8 billion NSA crimes
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) January 15, 2016
So Jeb Bush wants to waive all liability for companies that rat out customers to the feds, or what? "Put the NSA in charge" he sez…

Carson says ISIS leaders are "sitting around smoking cigars." This is not going to help the effort to demonize ISIS.

I missed the first three minutes of the Republican debates. Which countries did the candidates call for bombing?
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) January 15, 2016
Rubio – "ISIS attacked us last week in Philadelphia." Should one wacko in Philly really influence national policy?
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) January 15, 2016
“Should one wacko in Philly really influence national policy?”
Why should one whacko in DC get to hog all the fun?
Ya, well, that’s a point.
Jim, it’s been a rough week for you with the Obama Show and then the GOP Show – that’s more than most people could handle. I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend, but avoid all government agents – especially TSA agents.
Maybe it would be best not to even leave home just in case there are any official behavior detection operations going on.

Thanks, Tom – that’s a hoot!
I just realized that I trigger more Homeland Security warning signs. The Reason article linked below says that the feds have warned hotels to be suspicious and report guests with the following traits because they could be engaged in illegal sex trafficking –
*frequent use of “Do Not Disturb” sign on room door [SECOND INSTINCT FOR SOME OF US]
*individuals “dressed inappropriate for age” or with “lower quality clothing than companions” [THIS WAS A PROBLEM WHEN I STAYED AT THE WALDORF ASTORIA]
*the presence of photography equipment [GUILTY]
*”excessive sex paraphernalia” in room [I HAVE NEVER TRAVELED WITH A ‘PHILADELPHIA FLYING ****’ HANGING BASKET]
*garbage cans containing many used condoms [WHAT SORT OF HOTEL HAS FULL-SIZE GARBAGE CANS INSTEAD OF SMALL WASTE BASKETS IN THEIR ROOMS? BUT IF THERE’S A 40 GALLON DRUM FULL OF USED CONDOMS, THEN THE MATTRESS IS PROBABLY SHOT TO HELL & THE ROOM IS NOT WORTH STAYING IN]
