I agree: citizens should be wary of the power of government. However, you completely avoid the power of corporations. Something that hardly existed at the founding of the U.S. Their control over our lives as well as actual control over the government itself is enormous. Our liberty is threatened by both these powers.

I try to avoid the power of corporations the best I can simply by not giving the worst of them my money. I wish it was so easy with the government. Of course, the best way to avoid having corporations control the government is to abolish the government - that would be killing two birds with one stone. You can’t have corporations as we know them without state sanctioned incorporation.
