Ron Paul Tea Party Day!

This is the anniversary of the 1773 Boston Tea Party.  Grassroots supporters of Ron Paul are conducting a nationwide pledge campaign today for Tea Party 07.  The details – and some lively political art – are at this website

Ron Paul continues to be practically the only ray of sunlight on the national political horizon.  The further he goes in the presidential campaign, the greater the peril to Leviathan….

Visualize with me Ron Paul in the White House. Thought is powerful and preceeds action.

I’m donating today, I’m a huge RP fan, and I don’t care what motivates people, but I think most libertarians misunderstand the Boston Tea Party. Robert Higgs and others have pointed out that what really happened is that the British moved toward a free market in tea. From wikipedia: “The British government passed the Tea Act, which allowed the East India Company to sell tea to the colonies directly and without ‘payment of any customs or duties whatsoever’ in Britain, instead paying the much lower American duty. This tax break allowed the East India Company to sell tea for half the old price and cheaper than the price of tea in England, enabling them to undercut the prices offered by the colonial merchants and smugglers.”

Ron Paul is really on fire, consider that he has now reached 11% in a South Carolina poll released yesterday!
