Only Terrorists Distrust Government Surveillance

The London Police department is launching a new ad campaign to keep people frightened and submissive.

The campaign includes a bizarre poster which encourages people to view as a terrorist suspect anyone who looks closely at government surveillance cameras.

Here is the link to the poster. sheet_road_cctv [[I could not figure out how to get this to open up on this page of the blog — If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be obliged..]

    Jim,

What I thought was funny was this statement in the advertisment:

“A bomb won’t go off here
    because weeks before
    a shopper reported someone
    studying the CCTV cameras.”

How do the authorities know this? Are there armed police there seaching everyone 24/7 or because they decided not to set one off here afterall?

This is stupidity worthy of an AdCouncil advertisment.

Excuse me for my cynicism here. After reading that in Missouri I could be considered a “terrorist” for supporting Dr. Paul there is little I would put pass these criminals.

Ryan, people that post comments on this blog are also automatically considered terrorist suspects in the states of Vermont, North Carolina, Utah, and Arizona.

It is difficult for me to have confidence in British surveillance when their system permitted someone like me to enter their country to appear on Al Jazeera.

I wonder if the UK government can substantiate that claim, or if they just made it up for the ad. I suspect it’s the latter.

Not that many people are inclined to question such statements nowadays, and of course anyone who questions the government’s claims is obviously a terrorist in their eyes.

    Jim,

This bit of information concerning Arizona frightens me. Does Charles Goyette know about this?!

As for your trip to London I’m even more surprise they didn’t detain you as you look like a wild man to boot. Then again, so do I with my long hair. You can’t get me within two miles of Hartsfield Int. here in Atlanta. They were bad enough prior to the 9/11 hysteria. I can only imagine how bad they are now.

Obviously, the Brits need help across the pond with “security” and I know where they can get it. There are a number of former Bush administration members that are available.

    Me? A “wild man”?

So much for my carefully-cultivated moderate image.

Maybe it is time for me to fire my fashion coach.

So i suppose my long-standing habit of drawing up in front of security cameras and leering at them like I was chewing a brace of uppers is imprudent. To be honest, I have matured, I used to flip them the bird but someone once told me that was intemperate and I for one, am loathe to be intemperate. Someday, we shall enjoy a replacement of the lags at the U.N. and it shall be a screaming tableau of “BOO!” in all the languages of member nations.

As far as “boo” in various languages – perhaps that will cross fertilize the world’s profanity.
