42nd Anniversary of the Israeli Attack on the USS Liberty

On June 8, 1967, Israeli forces knowingly attacked an American intelligence ship off the coast of Egypt. Thirty-four Americans were killed.

The Johnson administration responded by rushing to coverup the facts.

James Bamford, author of Body of Secrets, has unearthed massive evidence proving that the Israelis had definitely identified the ship as American before they sought to destroy it.

The fact that many of the files and tapes relating to the attack on the USS Liberty are still kept under wraps illustrates how truth has scant chance in DC – if some major interest group is profiting from official lies.

Ray McGovern had an excellent article on Counterpunch last week on the belated award of a silver star to Terry Halbardier, a Navy seaman who prevented the Israelis from finishing off the USS Liberty and all its crew. Scott Horton of Antiwar.com Radio interviewed McGovern; the MP3 file is here.

Here is a link to a blog I did to a superb Chicago Tribune 2007 expose proving that the U.S. government has long known that its story on the USS Liberty attack is a fraud.

Here is a link to the Anti-Defamation League’s page on the bigots and conspiracy nuts who refuse to accept the Official Story.

Was it an Egyptian or Turkish Horse Barge the Israeli’s professed to think the USS Liberty…….sprouting antennae and Old Glory snapping in the wind…was? It is shameful that the casualties in this incident were never given their proper due. A ship named “Liberty”…..reading the transcripts of Johnson’s and McNamara’s discussions of this sordid episode is darkly amusing.

The Golden Calf we worship these days is no longer idolatry it would appear.

As most of you know, the whole thing reeks of the typical “information and opinion management” techniques of Gov-Co in its coverage in the press. The medium is the message. Heck, even within the libertarian community this continues to be a problem. Just a few days ago, Lewrockwell.com proudly announced that Karen DeCoster has established a brand new relationship wtih the Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute. Just to refresh everyone’s memory, Clare Booth Luce was a willing and well known “asset” of the CIA and its many disinformation campaigns conducted through major media outlets such as Life magazine — to which Clare Booth Luce was connected through her husband, its owner. Those of us who remember reading Mark Lane’s deconstructions of the Kennedy assassination coverups and press “management” remember their role. How charming to see avowed libertarians becoming part of this mess — especially since the Lewciferians should know better.

I think Karen DeCoster just wants to be a part of this:

It is with pride that we showcase these talented Luce Ladies in our 2009 Pretty in Mink calendar. We hope you enjoy the show!

    The Players

    Miss January — Kellyanne Conway
    Miss February — Star Parker
    Miss March – Susan Phalen
    Miss April – Nonie Darwish
Miss May – Mary Katharine Ham
    Miss June – Michelle Malkin
    Miss July – Amanda Carpenter
Miss August – Sandy Liddy Bourne
    Miss September – Ann Coulter
    Miss October – Kate Obenshain
Miss November – Miriam Grossman, M.D.
Miss December – Clare Boothe Luce

That Miss June really gets me hot when she talks about internment camps.

But, speaking of Zionist conspiracies that are real, here’s a fresh one:

Tom, thank you for bringing to our attention the REAL draw to the C.B.Luce Institute. But in a swim-suit fashion show, where do they hide the microphones? Maybe under Ann Coulter’s adam’s apple? And thanks for the link about Israeli retaliation to balanced Middle East policies — even if they won’t be balanced. Oy, ve!

Hey, I hope you guys realize that this Pretty in Mink calender thing is REAL – not merely some bizarre twisted fantasy of mine. As sick as I may be, I couldn’t make up anything that perverse.

I’m beginning to think The Matrix is real and hacker pranksters have broken into the system to tweak our perceptions of reality for their own amusement. This would explain a lot of things that seemingly occur these days.

Tom, after that great mock-up you did of the photo of me with a Muslim/Arab head-wrap…

That “Pretty in Mink” calendar…. I think I would prefer a G. Gordon Liddy ‘stacked and packed’ calendar…

    Jim,

Excellent links I shall avail myself to.

I commemorated the day myself as I do every year, but this time I made it a point to posts some comments on Clown Hall. It isn’t just congress that is Israeli occupied territory as Pat put it, but blogs like that one and other bulletin boards like “Free” Republic. Unfortanately, I can’t do anything there because JimRob keeps kicking me off.
