Are You a “Low-Level Terrorist”?

The Pentagon is teaching soldiers and bureaucrats that people who attend public protests are guilty of “low-level terrorism.”
As a California political blog notes, “Among the multiple-choice questions included in its Level 1 Antiterrorism Awareness training course – an annual training requirement for all DoD personnel that is fulfilled through web-based instruction – the DoD asks the following: “Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorist activity?” To answer correctly, the examinee must select “protests.”
The ACLU is raising hell on this one - or at least writing a letter to the government.
I still believe that we have not yet seen the tip of the iceberg of federal efforts to classify political protests or opposition to the government as terrorism.

With the current Obama regime I’m waiting on the resurrection of the 1917 Espionage Act and 1918 Sedition Act. Parts of the 1917 Espionage Act are still on the books. Over 2000 people were prosecuted under the Espionage and Sedition Acts with sentences up to 10 years for criticizing the government.
The Postmaster General had the authority to seize mail that could be deemed anti government. What’s to fear? Today the NSA is vacuuming up millions of emails. The next step would be interception and deletion.
Both Congress and the Executive branch consider the U.S. to be at war now despite no formal declaration. Under that assumption and Obama’s want of total control the Espionage and Sedition Acts may soon rise from the ashes like the Phoenix.

Those who cut off peaceful protests are asking for other kinds of activity, not so peaceful.

Hmmm I guess those folks protesting in Iran are “terrorists”, too…
Well, no doubt the Israelis and the Neocons will think of them as such.
