I snapped this along the C & O Canal yesterday.
I realized it was too cold when I saw a crowd of Wiccans marching along wearing thermal bras.
Ten more days to the Ides of March.

Jim,
Colder than a Wiccan’s what? You’re nasty! Speaking of witch hunts and meaningless holidays, beware the Fourth of July as well! Unfortunately, our celebration of independence from tyranny was only a declaration. We, the people, never actually reached out and grasped our indepencence. We have had the thumbscrews of the wealthy and powerful applied to us ever since. Speaking of horrendous witches, do you think that Annie Coulter can float?
Jim,
Nice, well-framed shot! As to the company you are now keeping, I’m afraid I can’t be so enthusiastic! I suppose, however, I should be more encouraging. Wiccans are definitely a step up from the Hoover Institution!
Oh, congrats on the Spooner nomination.
Best,
Wes
Wes – thanks.
Not sure about the difference between Wiccans and Hooverites…
Considering how much people at these Washington receptions eat, they may need to hire a conjurer to fit into their 20 year old tuxedos…
Jim,
I’d appreciate your opinion on what you think the Democratic party should do and can do in view of the majority Republican (including Joe Lieberman as a pro-war independent) Senate.
Should they bring up a strong bill even one that will surely be defeated in the senate? Yes, if necessary — to express some sentiment, perhaps. But they will be criticized for failure if they do this, will they not?
So, in the interest of harmonious figuring out of What To Do, how do we end the war?
Yours,
I have my own idea, by the way, but it might take longer than yours.
