Obama’s Latest Assault on the Truth

From A Tiny Revolution:

The feds have arrested Bradley Manning, 22, of Potomac, Maryland, for allegedly leaking the classified video footage of a US helicopter slaughtering Iraqi civilians in 2007. Manning allegedly leaked other information to WikiLeaks.

This follows the indictment of a National Security Agency official who allegedly leaked information on Bush’s illegal wiretap program to the media.

So how exactly was the Obama administration supposed to be superior to the Bush cabal?

Perfect headline, Jim. In Amurrica, it’s all about how you do something, not what you do that counts. It appears that 90% (or am I being optimistic?) of the population has spiraled into moral oblivion.

Except for the Tea Partiers, of course.

Yeah, thank God we have those paragons of virtue leading the way — knuckles dragging, mouths a-breathin’, and lips a droolin’. Since I completely forgot about them, let’s revise that figure to 95% in moral oblivion. I already counted the Obamatons and Bushwhakers.

Perhaps if we had a Press even marginally interested in the realities on the ground of our war zones, we might not be forced to rely on whistle-blowers from within government . Then again, if we had a public with an attention span longer than a a yapping dog’s, we might have a Press that thought it worthwhile to work harder for the public. Then again, if we had a government that did not think its role was the pursuit of Utopia at Gunpoint, we might not even need whistleblowers.

Yep – aside from those asterisks, our democracy is doing great.

How is the Obama Administration different? Well, at this moment, his heart is still pure. And when your heart is pure, you can do no wrong, regardless of what it may look like to third party observers – or to your victims. 😀

Pure hearts are damned expensive these days.

Hiya Jim. Have to disagree with the tagline of your blog; government is created on the nationalist assumption; but the nation is not a real political entity. Anyone who wishes to leave will be forced in; that is a violation of rights necessary to the existence of government. Hence, governments are created to violate the right of association. Since they are criminal to start with, it can only go downhill from there.

Now there are several articles about how Pentagon investigators are conducting a manhunt for the Wilkileaks guy and the State Dept. is trying to assess the political damage of the 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables that Manning described as exposing “almost criminal political back dealings.”

Meanwhile, I’m over here craving these diplomatic cables. Like a true junkie who hears about 10 keys of pure smack hitting town, I’m drooling for the chance to read these cables. If I can’t get my hands on some of this shit soon, I might have to start a manhunt for this Wikileaks dude myself. He’s just like a pusher – keeping all the good stuff for himself. It just ain’t right, especially when he’s still holding on to that Afghani war porn that Manning gave him.

I wonder if these cables will allow Hillary to boost her speaking fees after she is indicted.
