The great libertarian talk show host Brian Wilson has written the definitive rebuttal of the Toledo Blade’s attacks on his earlier this month. You can read his demolition of the Blade here, at the Toledo Free Press.
Brian has done damn fine hell-raising ever since he arrived in at WSPD in Toledo, and this latest brawl is one more V along the way.
Many thanks, Jim, for the kind words and helpful sheparding of the piece. One informative ommission is the jaw-dropping admission of The Blade AND yet, their persistance in holding to an indefensible position.

Brian, is there some organization in Toledo that would sponsor a public debate between you and the Blade political reporter – or a Blade editorial writer? I think that could be a great lesson in local democracy….
JB
Sadly, there is no organization in Toledo that has the brains, guts or concern for Freedom to do a damn thing that challenges the status quo – except the generally consistant effors of the Toledo Free Press.
The Blade doesn’t permit ANY of their people to come on WSPD. I have no memory of any Blade personnel appearing in any other media – even for a good cause.
I have regularly challenged the Blade’s anonymous editorials, espcially the ones that attack individuals by name. David Kushma,Editor, wrote a hillarious “I don’t listen to Talk radio” editorial reply!

One of his knee-slappers: “If my colleagues and I were to sign the editorials we write, it would be all too easy for our detractors to dismiss them…”
Your idea is a damn good one. But not even the anemic “Toledo Press Club” has expressed interest or commentes on the “Yellow Journalism” scandal”.
Great quote from Tom Woods fits perfectly: “Most people do not subject their unstated assumptions to close scrutiny, particularly since the more deeply embedded the assumption, the less people are aware it exists.”
Brian, thanks for the explanation and the update.
I reckon there’s no danger of Toledo become the Press Freedom Capital of America.
I hope somehow, someone, some group can set up that debate. Heck, it might even be a temporary cure for Attention Deficit Democracy!
