Hillary Clinton is championing Egypt’s Torturer in Chief as new leader. I guess the Obama team is hellbent on further disgracing the United States in this ongoing clash.

James Ridgeway has a pretty good overview of this Suleiman character over at MoJo:

He is apparently an OK scumbag thug because he has been trained properly by American scumbag thugs. I guess once Neyanyahu approves, Obama can go ahead and install Suleiman and if those rude people blocking traffic in the streets don’t like it, well they can just move to Gaza.

Tom, thanks for adding the link and thought. That Ridgeway piece spurred me to blog on this.

I hope those brave Egyptians in that square are not counting on the integrity of American politicians to save their hide.

Dim-witted Apparatchiks drunk on their own sense of entitled superiority should not attempt tight-rope walking . They’ve been so long pursuing a split-personality foreign policy that spans the gamut between Beaver Cleaver and Vlad the Impaler that they can’t quite divine the script. This, of course, does not impede them from blathering on in confusing directions because the most important objective of course, is to issue a minimum of one official pronouncement per each 24 hour cable news cycle so that the “Change” mirage is maintained. The Department of State ought to just be re-named “Department of Eddie Haskell. “

@Dirk: Your comments are (sadly) spot on. What mystifies me about that highwire act is that so few people in the USSA seem to see through it.

Eddie Haskell at least had a roguish charm to him. Charm is utterly lacking in D.C., even in our “diplomats”.

alpowolf, I guess you didn’t see the charming element of weasels?

Dirk, that’s a good idea for renaming the St. Dept. Can we work the word “weasels” into the title?
