BRAVO Ron Paul in Iowa!

Ron Paul finished a very close second to Michele Bachmann in today’s Iowa straw poll – and far ahead of all the other Republican presidential candidates.

After all the ‘dissing Ron Paul has received from the media and other candidates, his stalwart finish in the Hawkeye state puts him in great position moving forward. Paul more than twice as many votes as third-place finisher Pawlenty, three times as many votes as fifth-place finisher Herman Cain, and more than a dozen times as many votes as Gingrich.

I would wager that tonight will be the highwater mark for Bachmann’s campaign.

The Ron Paul campaign is in a vastly stronger position now than it was four years ago.

While I was annoying bass this AM, I would wager Sunday’s Moron Mass pontificated on the Deep Meaning of Bachman’s victory, Perry’s remarkable Right-In and nothing except disparaging remarks about Ron Paul’s 154 near miss. Even if he had beaten Bachman like a junkyard dog, it would have as ignored as used underwear at the nearly-new shop.
Of course, Ron’s success cannot loiter in the spotlight or his message will, too. Can’t have that! Next thing ya know, Barbra Streisand will wanna make a movie out of The Bush Betrayal!
    (Probably not the same subject)

Brian, your metaphors are a tonic for any blog.

I don’t watch the Sunday gabfests but saw a ref or two on Google News – sounds like the usual circular blathering.

These were the same folks who told us early on that GWBush would be great – and then, years later, told us that Obama would be great — and – now they are looking for the next rising candidate to attach themselves to.

Heck, I would prefer to go fishing instead of listening to those twerps.

As they say on “The Price Is Right”: JIM BOVARD! COME ON DOWN!
You still have the directions, right?

    Jim,

It looks like the GOP is racing toward the bottom to find another Bob Dole candidate. It looks they, and their very cooperative dopes in the media, are desperately trying to find the biggest boob (apologies to Ms. Bachmann’s cleavage) to run against an even bigger tit in the White House. Have you seen Perry’s transcript at Texas A&M?

B’s and C’s in Phys. Ed are among the highlights of his scholarship!.

I see that he was listed as “Pre-Vet.”

Hmmmm… Hard to get into Vet school when you flunk organic chemistry.

Maybe his career choice was a blessing for Texas dogs and cats.

“Maybe his career choice was a blessing for Texas dogs and cats.”

Yea, but it looks like the teenage girls in Texas didn’t fair so well with his forced immunization program. Wonder if Perry could field a chemistry question on Merck’s Gardasil?

It would be great if that Perry mandate becomes a huge news issue.

Amazing to see what politicians get away with inflicting… or injecting.

Won’t be covered on tv or in print. Too much advertising dollars to be lost from Merck. Cover the story: loose the Singulair contract. Ain’t gonna happen.

So was that vaccination program based on the tacit assumption that every 12 year girl would become either a hooker or a porn star? I can’t see how it makes any sense otherwise…
