MP3 Will Politicians Ever be Punished for their Crimes? Bretigne Shaffer Podcast

Bretigne Shaffer

Author Bretigne Shaffer and I had a zesty 30 minute chat on how how America is sliding into authoritarianism on her podcast. Seems unlikely that politicians will ever be held responsible for all the damage they are inflicting, from the COVID shutdowns & beyond. Bretigne had excellent thought-provoking questions, not all of which I dodged. She has an interesting perspective, having worked as a journalist in Asia in the 1990s and returning to the United States just before the 9/11 attacks.  Hell on idealism but educational just the same.  Bretigne is the daughter of the late, great law professor and hardline freedom champion, Butler Shaffer.

Her podcast is excellent & available below for Apple, Spotify & other options. Here is the link:

Here is the link to her website and here is the cover of her latest book, which is receiving rave reviews from Kirkus & elsewhere –

Good conversation. It was the first podcast I’ve heard from Bretigne and the first time I heard her name pronounced.

Her new book looks like a great book for kids

thanks for listening & thanks for the feedback. Prior to the start of the interview, I asked her how to pronounce her name. I was haunted by the specter of my near-failure in high school French class.
