For years, we have heard that Obama is different than other politicians – wiser, more compassionate, more prudent.

Blowing the hell out of Libya settles any doubts about whether Obama is simply another deluded ruler who will use power however he pleases to burnish his reputation.
Obama is simply a high-falutin’ version of George W. Bush. And any foreigner who is killed thanks to Obama’s orders is irrelevant, because the U.S. President was merely trying to do good.
The Left’s excuses for supporting this war are staggeringly dumb and self-serving. For instance, Mother Jones is pretty much coming out and saying that it’s cool because it’s Obama and not Bush doing it: the “Anti-Bush Doctrine”. Hooray for Team Blue. Bah.

Call me naive, but I was surprised that David Corn came out shilling for Obama’s carnage. Corn made some astute criticisms of Bush. Apparently, as long as the rhetoric is fine-tuned, the slaughter is fine and dandy.
Any bets on how long we go before Qaddafi’s “WMD” (mustard gas, IIRC) gets trotted out as an excuse?
One of the large-circulation American papers already had a piece voicing concerns about the mustard gas.
Maybe they can bring Janet Reno back for an encore presentation about her ex po facto concerns about the children of Waco, too.
Not to speak in favor of this action, but at least it was not based on lies and propaganda about weapons of mass destruction. Not the same as GWB.

And ya know, the dead feel SO much better when their murders are not based on lies and propaganda, but are, instead, “honest.” Makes that eternal rest so much more…restful…that difference does.
What I find fascinating are all of the gun boards which are having no end of hoo-hah, kill ’em all! going, without any benefit of, you know, an actual declaration of war. Kinda eats into their credibility as ‘constitutionalists’ when it’s the Second Amendment getting a boinking down the road.

I have nothing good to say about Hillary Clinton and her desire for war, but again, this is different from Iraq, and if you have some evidence of lies and propaganda leading to this bombing campaign you should be specific.
You first – do you have any evidence that American military activities killing others, absent a Congressional declaration of war, isn’t murder? I’d like some case law citations to that, please. 😀
You might check out the War Powers Act, Lawhobbit. But I’m not really interested in a legal debate, only pointing out that this isn’t Iraq or GWB. No declaration of war has happened since WWII.
So what’s the threat Libya poses to the US? Immediate threat? In the meantime, though, since the law doesn’t interest you, I’ll let the discussion die since law is the only thing that distinguishes the civilized from barbarians, and arguing with murderous barbarians is quite futile. 😀
I disagree, it is not law which separates us from barbarians, but empathy. Law can be a double edged sword, you know. As a medical cannabis patient, I have little patience for such nonsense.
One problem with empathy is that you have to rely on the proclaimed intent of a person. Politicians are the biggest liars around. I would prefer to have something more explicit to leash them – or to indict them.
Who would proclaim a standard of merciless justice would be a great tyrant for certain. Politicians lie, but it is better they proclaim the good, and be charged for their hypocrisy.
