I will be on the Peter B. Collins syndicated radio show Friday (6/22) from 6 pm to 7 pm Eastern time. (Lawhobbit, that would be 3 pm Pacific time).
Peter had me on his show when the Bush Betrayal came out and we had a rowdy good time. I expect there will be some fun plinking tomorrow as well. We’ll be talking about Attention Deficit Democracy and other uplifting topics.
You can listen live here. The show is also broadcast on the following stations:
- KRXA 540 Monterey CA, live 3-6pm (All times Pacific)
- KGOE 1480 Eureka CA, live 3-6pm
- KBBR 1340 Coos Bay OR, live 3-6pm
Thank you for saving me from having to break out new batteries for my calculator. 😛
Jim,
I value these interviews you give so much that I interrupted an afternoon drinking sesssion just to listen to this. Unfortunately, I posted a couple of comments on the previous thread about Iran instead of here where they belong. You’re even more humorous after a few beers. The analogy involving the buses was classic.
Now, that I gave you an attaboy, I have to chatise you over the loose use of the word “conservative”. I’m a paleoconservative myself with a very strong streak of libertarianism within me when it comes to privacy issues, etc, and people like Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol are anything but “conservatives”, no matter what they claim. The present bunch are misusing and abusing the word. Please don’t help them in their misrepresentation. I prefer truth in advertising and call them what they are, a collection of warmongering Neocons.
Like everything else they have been involved in, they really have messed up the old political spectrum to the point to make it meaningless.
Other than this one thing it was quite enjoyable to hear you and the only valid reason for me to leave a nice, comfortable watering hole.
If you really want to make your conservative opinions heard, as well as significantly increase sales of your books, you should follow the lead of Ron Paul and make an appearance on the “Colbert Report”. Of all the poeple who deserve it, methinks that James Bovard is more than ready to recieve that impending “Colbert Bump”!
Ummmm….Ryan….if you’re a “paleoconservative” then what’s the problem with referring to others as just “conservatives?” Though I generally capitalize it in spelling, to distinguish from real conservativism.
But more generally, since the title “liberal” was hijacked by the socialists and I am forced to make do with “libertarian” (because people really just have their eyes glaze when you say “anarcho-capitalist” or my peraonal favorite, “anarcho-privateer”), all I can say is, “Welcome to my world.” 😀
Lawhobbit,
Hi, there. You answer your own question. Most folks wouldn’t know what I was talking about if I did describe myself in that manner, the same reaction you get over anarcho-capitalist.
Alas, we have the same problem. Only a hard core political junkie would understand what we are talking about. For the rest of them, it is not only over their heads, it is on the Moon. I prefer the “KISS” principle when it comes to dealing with this.
…I like the term Realist
