More Fan Mail from Fox Appearance

One of the best parts about radio or TV gigs is the thoughtful responses from people who may not exactly agree with everything I say.    Such feedback can be Deliberative Democracy at its best.

Wow, Jim, sounds like these witty Fox News viewers have your number! “Blowhard” as a pun on Bovard – now that man knows his French!

Keep up the fine work. I’m only sorry that I missed the episode and that you apparently had technical difficulties. Imagine the onslaught of love letters had you been able to have your say for a good 20 minutes show on Mr. Murdoch’s enlightened, scholarly forum!

Wes – yes, I was guessing that he minored in French – maybe at Penn State.

If I had his mailing address, I would send him a new keyboard, since his CAPS key appears to be broken.

Oh, my! I can see that Fox is obviously drawing from a much larger pool of government school “graduates” than you might think. Yet one more reason to seperate school and state.
Keep up the good work, Jim. At this rate these folks will all stroke out soon and freedom will get a much needed boost.

Michael – thanks for the encouragement. Freedom is overdue for a boost – but I suppose that is what the midterm congressional elections are for.

It’s always amusing, if disturbing, to listen to those who wrecklessly admonish critics of US foreign policy as “America haters”. Unfortunately, such individuals falsely view the government, a mere tool, as “the nation” rather than the sum of it’s people.

If tired and worn out insults is the totality the opposition to liberty can continually spew forth it is little wonder that informed individuals fail to take them seriously.

In my opinion America is most fortunate to have individuals such as James Bovard defending what remains of our liberties. It does make one wonder if the human race will ever learn to think outside the “government-indoctrination box” it has cast upon citizens of all nations for countless centuries.

Ryan – thanks for the kind words.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure how much difference it makes whether “informed individuals” disregard those who seek to use dump trucks of simmering verbiage to bury dissent.

It has been a damn long time since “informed individuals” were within a country mile of a majority in this country.
