According to some Obama supporters, the U.S. bombing of Libya is a self-evident triumph of good over evil.
Why? Because we’re the good guys, and Obama said the people the U.S. is killing are bad guys.
Defense Secretary Gates has become indignant at the suggestion that the U.S. bombing is killing a significant number of Libyan civilians. That is impossible, because Obama is pure-hearted.
It will be entertaining to watch pro-war liberals struggle to justify killing Libyans (civilian and otherwise) in the coming days/weeks/months.
I was just watching Hardball (well, as much as I could stomach). A Democratic “strategist” (ahem) was arguing that of course Obama doesn’t need Congressional authorization; he can just use his big Commander-in-Chiefiness powers to do whatever he wants.
Hmmm…sounds familiar…
Give that Democratic stategist a M-16 and a parachute and wish him luck in Tripoli.
Look at the bright side – at least we can, during this particular illegal murder-fest, not have to put up with accusations that killing all those innocents is business-as-usual in racist America. 😀
I guess that woman’s sign is from the old chant:
Hey, Hey, LBJ,
How many kids did you kill today?
Very catchy.
It might provoke criticisms of racism from white people, but this could be updated for Obama to:
Hey, Hey, Hey, President Ofay,
How many kids did you kill today?
(Ofay is an old pejorative for a white person but also used at times by black people to describe a black person who acts white)
Tom,
At the 12/16 rally at the Whitehouse they chanted “Hey Obama, what do you say?
How many kids did you kill today?” You can hear it at the end of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCOg35XrtY0
That worked just fine. Why get into a racist chant? You’re just looking for trouble.
Jim,
WE ARE THE LIBERALS.
