Cartoons as Spurs to Repent

cartoon-uncollected-works-IMG_0026-SHRUNKI was going through some old files and came across this divine cartoon. Folks who know me will understand why this drawing “hit me where I live.”

In my defense, I’ve never left apple cores or pizza boxes in my office. And I heard awhile back that leaving one or two beer bottles around can help achieve “feng shui.”

Actually, for writing about politics, there’s probably no better feng shui than a few ammo boxes from Remington atop a bookshelf smiling down….

    Aw shucks, it warn’t nuthin’. I have two boxes of Winchester .22LR sitting here as I type this. What’s interesting is that they’re not mine – I found them tucked far back on a forgotten section of shelf in the basement of the house. Well, I guess they are mine, what with me having bought the house and all, but they’re not mine in the sense of “I didn’t buy them separately at the store.” And they’re OLD. May well be a relic from the original owner back in the 60s. They’re “Staynless” and “kopperklad,” indicating that spelling issues are not new to the world of advertising……
