The police response to the nonviolent protests at the University of California Davis is a stark lesson of how much abuse some government officials feel entitled to inflict on anyone who does not kowtow.
Watching this video, I wonder how much more violence the police would have inflicted if they had been confident that they would not have been captured on film.
I have seen numerous assertions about the involvement of federal Homeland Security officials in the nationwide crackdown on the various Occupy protests. I hope we can get the facts of the matter and damn fast.
Perhaps the brutal reaction in Oakland, UC Davis, and elsewhere against the Occupy protestors will help awake a new generation to the perils of our Leviathan.
